10.08.2010

Are you ready for 10.10.10?

This Sunday, October 10, 2010, is the Global Work Party.  It's the day when people all over the globe are going to do something to help reduce carbon emissions and bring attention to global warming.  Something as simple as having a low carbon Sunday lunch (think local, vegetarian fare), or planting trees, or cycling to work, or carpooling.  It's slated to the be "biggest-ever day of positive action on climate change."

So, what are you doing this Sunday?

I will be at the UU Church in downtown Riverside at the Pressure + Pooling + Party, hosted by UUCR's Green Sanctuary.  We're going to be checking tire pressures and organizing carpools.  If you don't have plans this Sunday you should come on down.  We are also going to be recording a video to post on YouTube encouraging President Obama to put solar panels back on the White House roof.

  1. Our recording of the "solarized" version of the song "Up on the Roof" (about putting solar back on the Whitehouse roof) was postponed because they are putting solar back on the Whitehouse roof! So, we need to modify the lyrics a little, so it's a thanks instead of a request. Hooray!

  2. Oh, but otherwise I would say Pressure + Pool + Party was quite successful. Hope everyone's 10.10.10 party was as great!
